Great afternoon safari with an expert guide.
Fabulous afternoon safari. Very knowledgeable guide who spotted game from the start to the finish. We saw many elephants, crocadiles, deer, wild boars, water buffaloe, mongooses, jackals and the crowning glory, a leapord ambling about. The park is also a wetland home to a diverse population of birds. Great driving skills kept us feeling safe all the time. Having visited Yala last year, I would say this tour and guide was considerably better.

Great Wildlife Experience
I visited Kumana National Park on 8 and 9 February. My visit was arranged and managed by Priyantha in a professional manner. I had two full days at the park consisting of morning and afternoon game drives. The vehicle provided by Priyantha was a purpose built open safari vehicle. Lunch on both days was also provided. As a regular visitor to Wildlife Reserves in Africa, I was astonished at the variety of birds in the park making this one of the top destinations for bird photography. We had several Leopard sightings on both days at close range as well. I was fortunate to see my first Sloth Bear at this park. In addition to birds and wild animals, the park offers breathtaking scenery around the many lakes along the way. Priyantha is also a seasoned photographer and assisted me with target sightings that I was looking for. Overall I had a great experience in the the two days and would not hesitate to recommend Priyantha and Safari Panama Sri Lanka to anyone.

Super day out in remote Kumana
This was an amazing experience. The park is very remote and the roads are bad but our driver was very good at navigating them. He also had “eagle eyes” and was able to see things that we simply did not spot even though we were not doing the driving. He went all out to give us a great time and we saw a leopard twice as well as elephant, lots of birds (he knew all their names). Great lunch was served half way around. It’s a long day and only suggestion would be to offer a shorter trip coming back after lunch. But the fact remains that best viewing is early morning and late evening and if we’d come back after lunch we’d have missed the leopard!

Spotted 2 leoporads！
Kumana is the best place for leopard lovers! We are lucky enough to spot 2 of them! One is bit far however with 2 coyotos chasing, one is right beside our jeep, sleeping, yawning and land marking! While I have been to Yala 5 times, but haven't seen leopard once, probably due to the crowd of people and jeeps! Priyantha and Pasan both are very experienced, we thank them for this wonderful and memorable trip!!!

Kumana - hidden gem
The park is beautiful and filled with many species. We loved to see the fantasy of our Creator as is seen in the variety of his creation. The guides helpedin a very friendly wayus to appreciate nature even more as they did their utmost to inform and spot birds, mammals and reptiles. We had been very lucky - and needed lots of patience -to see the rare sloth bear! If possible we would choose this company again to visit Kumana NP.

Fantastic local safari company
Excellent local operators with comfy well maintained vehicles. Very good driver and spotter. They arranged an amazing lunch for us at the park gate as we did a full day drive. Delicious!

Amazing safari!
We had a lovely experience with Priyantha. We were the only Jeep in the park. We saw all the animals they claim to have in this park including the mighty leopard on the way back. Comfortable ride and Priyantha is a very knowledgeable guide in the park. If you are in Arugambay for a while I think it’s better to do full day trip with him from morning 5am so you get to see the breakfast birds too. We did afternoon tour only and it was pretty amazing.

BOOK WITH THIS CREW! Definitely the best safari for Kumana N.P.
Priyantha and his team are pretty amazing folks, defying the odds to set up this amazing safari to Kumana National Park. They are fully professional and know what they are doing, they get you in the park nice and early (note:foreigners fees of 3,000LKR is a bit steep), and they know how to drive safari-style. We had a big bull Elephant in musk come towards us, and at no point did the driver freakout or make a misstep, and the Big Boy just walked on by us - I could have touched him he was so close! They also know all the animals, birds, the good spots, etc. And after all that, we went back to Panama Village (just outside the Kumana National Park) and had a community lunch which was traditional and GOOD. Note this is NOT in Aragum Bay, though they will come to your hotel and pick you up. It's about a 30min drive from AB to the Kumana National Park entrance. Be prepared for 5:30 departure, and return around 11-12 depending on whether you want lunch or not.

Großartige Safari; absolut empfehlenswert
Wir buchten die Safari bei unserem Aufenthalt in Arugam Bay. Der Kontakt, die Organisation und die Abholung verlief perfekt. Start war um 5.30 Uhr mit der Abholung am guesthouse. Die Anfahrt zum Parkeingang dauerte ca. 1 Std. Wir sahen zahlreiche Vögel (Störche, Pelkane, Reiher ....), Krokodile, Hirsche, Büffel, 2 Leoparaden und weitere Kleintiere. Der Fahrer war sehr aufmerksam und entdeckte viele Tiere, die wir nicht sofort gesehen haben. Wir waren mit dem ganzen Verlauf und den wahnsinnig schönen Landschaften und Seen hochzufrieden. Wir empfehlen Safari Panama Sri Lanka uneingeschränkt weiter. Anette und Michael, Germany

The safari was amazing! We did a half-day safari in the afternoon hoping to see some elephants. We saw those as well but were also treated to two leopards.
The guide was good at identifying the animals. He also gave us more than enough time to take some pictures of all the animals.
Also the service was really good. We were picked up right in front of our hotel and the complementary refreshment pack was very welcome.

Wir hatten das große Glück die einzigen auf der Safari zu sein! Unser Guide hat uns viele Tiere und Vögel gezeigt und uns die Tierwelt erklärt! Es war sehr beeindruckend und kaum in Worte zu fassen wie unfassbar schön es war. Er stoppte immer wieder den Jeep und lies uns die Zeit die wir brauchten um uns die Tiere anzuschauen! Eine ganz klare Empfehlung!

Had an amazing 2-day safari with Priyantha! Not only did we get 3 leopard sightings, and 3 elephant sightings, but Priyantha explained all the wildlife to us! He also showed us the photos that he was taking so we could see the smaller animals, like eagles, in better detail!! Would highly recommend this company 🙂

Amazing safari in Kumana park!! Same landscapes and animals than Yala without the queues of cars! We had an amazing leopard sighting just for ourselves for 15 minutes! Thanks a lot Priyantha!
